Sphaerodactylus ist eine Klasse von geckos von den Amerikas, die von anderem gekkoninae durch ihre kleine Größe und herum, aber nicht vertikale Augenschüler und jede Ziffer bemerkenswert sind, die in einem einzelnen, runden klebenden Polster oder Skala endet, von der ihr Name (Sphaero = herum, dactylus = Finger) abgeleitet wird. Alle Arten in dieser Klasse sind ziemlich klein, aber zwei Arten, S. ariasae und S. parthenopion, sind und - mit einer Länge der Schnauze-Öffnung von ungefähr 1.6 Cm (0.6 in) - die kleinsten Reptilien in der Welt winzig.
